2004
- November 19, 20 The first two shows were so popular that everybody asked us to keep having more of them. This November show was organized hurriedly, without any publicity, and, so, was a wee bit like a private party for those who had participated in the other shows. There was a new event: the Preventive Medicine Health Panel, which was very well liked, and we are making it a permanent part of the Sound and Symbol Symposium format. Art prizes were won by Sarah Schwartz of FSU, Jacob Elmslie of FSU, and Jessie Beal of Northern High.
ELECTRONIC MUSIC PRODUCERS PERFORMING IN EACH SHOW
Aligning Minds -- We are Aligning Minds, a small but growing collective who express ourselves through electronic music and digital media ,currently consisting of Daniel Merill (Morvizion) And Mike Folk (Philo) two electronic musicians originating in Western Maryland . Our aim is to promote and contribute to the electronic music and art scene on a global and local scale. The combined musical efforts and talents of Philo (Mike Folk) and Morvizion (Daniel Merrill) have formed the basis of the Aligning Minds project and inherent philosophy. It is home base for our output of creative ideas and will hopefully grow into a collective of like minded individuals that share our passionate vision.
In case you're wondering what our inherent philosophy is, we believe that technology can be used as a powerful tool to explore the Mind and Soul through Sound and Vision. One might even say its become a spiritual practice. We utilize all forms of technology at our disposal, including computers, synthesizers, samplers, analogue field recordings, sound systems, and any electro-acoustical sound sources that tickle our fancies.
